A lot of my inspiration comes from nature, hiking and traveling. I like to keep moving. I usually have my 35mm camera with me to help me remember scenes I may want to paint later. Back in my studio, I make numerous pencil sketches to compose my work. I enjoy this drawing phase, especially when I am doing buildings and cityscapes. When I am satisfied, I transfer my drawing to watercolor paper and from there add color.
I sometimes like to tell just a hint of a story in my paintings, that will surprise or even delight the viewer. I strive for my art to bring joy. My greatest reward as an artist is to see someone smile at one of my works.
